1972 CL450 Fork Identification

Not sure what these forks came off of. The end game is to do a low cafe.

I have a front drum and from what I understand the CL in 72 had the drum but the CB in 72 had disc so I'm not sure if I can use CB forks.

Any idea what these are? (front fender might also be an identifier) and if I can cut them down to the length I want? (almost where it's at in the second pic)

Just for fun what does the exhaust look like?

Thanks everyone!

they are cl forks with long stanchion tubes, and a tweak bar
back in the day they sold long tubes
what tank is on there ?

Are you sure you want to use those forks? The tubes are rusted all the way into the seals.
My CB350 forks work with drum or disk caliper. You may find the 450's will too.

no I would rather use a fork that is close to the overall length that I want. I was just unsure if there was a boss on the fork to bolt the support bar to the drum.

That's a CL tank. I recommend swapping the entire front end from a CB if you want the disc brake. Never fails, those who have the drum want the disc and those who have the disc want the drum.

I would like to stay with the drum. What's the best place to find a set of forks? Can I still get it low enough with out modifying a set of forks?

Those tubes are pitted, not worth modifying or saving. The upper tubes and internals from a CB should work, just keep your lowers.

the tubes looked rough, steel wool and elbow grease may not be enough. Go for a front end swap if you can
