Is the rear cowl made from the rear section of an Aermacchi tank? Apologies if I missed that detail in text.

I pulled a female mold off of the tank, faired it, and used it to produce a male part...

I'm with you on wiring; it brings a unique satisfaction, although the by-product can be extreme frustration! ;D

I set it as a priority from the very start to have a bike with full running gear: markers, signals, headlight, tail-lights, horn, and reliable switching. It doesn't hurt that I'm a professional solderer/heatshrinker. :D

Did you use the wax in your pic as the mold release for both the steel tank and the parent mold? Brilliant concept, BTW; the flat rear portion is perfect for a tail light.

Yes, the wax was used as a release agent. I thought the flat rear might be okay for the license plate, but it was not >:( and so the plate is hanging off a separate bracket. The two lights visible in the pics are all the tail-lights I have; there is no central light.

So, no license plate light?

Sorry, let me clarify... There is no central brake/tail light, but the plate has it's own tiny dedicated white LED. Unusually, I can't find a good shot of it! ::)

That is sexy.... Love that sprocket. If you're inerested in making another one of those hubs, I'll buy it! Lol.

The sprocket is a semi-custom from Rebel Gears; super easy to deal with, and they'll drill whatever hole patterns you care for. As for the hub, well, I'll make you whatever hub you want, but frankly there's gotta be a half-dozen cheaper/easier ways to do this! I'm only going this route because I have spare time and access to a machine shop.
