I know, and will likely replace them just for this reason. It just sucks to throw what look like perfectly good tires in the bin

First round of vinigar dump. Yuck.
Redneck ultrasonic. Big jug carb body and pinesol. Small jug all the brass and carb cleaner.
Cleaned up seat. Pretty nice.
Carb body after and hour jiggiling in pinesol.
Float bowl final soak with carb cleaner to get the last of the varnish.
Brass all cleaned and compressed aired and copper wired these things were yuck yuck. May buy a carb rebuild we'll see but i got cleaner and ait through all the parts.

No worries mate. It's safely stored and not going anywhere. If you decide to go that way we can just wait until the borders open up again and save $$ on shipping.

Yep and there is a little glass pyrex wit a rubber lid with the brass. It really works. The tank is still solid but there is at least the same amount of rust to get put. Put a chain in it and been shaking it evey so often.

Yep, I looked again at them. They are hard as rocks so we will change them out.
I'm about to change into my 4th rear 712 on the airhead over about 14k miles. 4600 miles on average on a budget rear tire aint to bad, especially considering how much of my commute is chip n seal roads. I always think I'm going to try something that might wear better, then I look at my account and decide to go with a 712 again haha. The Avon roadrider on the front has held up through all 4 rears, BUT that's not surprising given the lack of braking power lol (and the usual front wear vs. rear)
I've only put 1000kms on the Roadriders on my CB but so far so great. Can't see me switching them out for a different brand or model when it is time to change them. Lots of confidence in the corners and no problem on slick roads. Even tar snakes (which definitely get the heart racing on the Shinko 705's on my KLR) are no drama on the Roadriders

So we dumped vinigar #2 and the same amount of shit came out. Good news is I can now see clean metal in places so making progress. Cleaned some more and through a 6v battery on and head and tail lights work. No signal flasher so need one of those. Missing main fuse so will grab that too. Nice thing. Brand new points.

So, the front brake on these is crap. I am really thinking it needs to be upgraded to hydraulic. I can't find any good info on what others have done except a full fork swap. I am thinking of buying a caliper and master cylinder from an newer bike of similar weight and performance and making a bracket to mount it. Anyone got any suggestions? I'm thinking a new CB125 setup, or even a Scooter setup. There is a used SR50 caliper and master on the Scooter site with new pads for $75. SR50's have good stopping power for scooters and should weigh pretty close to the same, got to check for sure.
