ok, got home from a loooong work week and the cl won't run right. it's hitting on one cylinder (left) and after replacing the plugs (they were fouled black and smelled like fuel) the bike ran on both cylinders for a bit, seems she will idle ok, but will shut off w/ throttle opened just a little. after asking the same question at the caferacer.net forum i figured i could get some help here too!! 2 is better than 1 right? well info on bike, all original 4k miles, has cj exhaust from dealer in 75, ran fine a week ago, and i have only wrapped the exhaust so i haven't changed the carbs or anything important has run fine for a month until 3 days ago...

Carbies! Pull 'em off & clean 'em out. The tiniest bit o' crap in your fuel will clog a jet. Also wouldn't hurt to make sure your valves are adjusted & timing set correctly first.

Good to see you again.

wisdom strikes again, i'll have to do it i guess, but i just got the drag bars and the new rail, and the tank is on the way.... aghh. well, just to clarify does one need a kit to clean them, or is it a clean and replace w/ what is there already?? and it is the fuel that i'm getting too much of that causes the fouling right? or am i not getting enough air? ok
