1976 RD200 Carb tuning help

I have a 1976 RD200 that has been giving me fits.

Completely rebuilt and ready to ride... Taken it up and down the street a few times, let it sit for 2 weeks and now missfiring on the right cylinder.

Installed new carb kit on both carbs, running no oil pump at the moment with carb oil intakes caped.

With new plug it runs for a min or so then the right cylinder starts popping. Pull the plug and it has some fuel on it.

Have original air cleaner and everything is stock. Have pulled the carb apart and cleaned a few times and still doing the same thing.

If someone in the Toronto area would be willing to give me a hand with it in person it would be even more appreciated.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Its probably a timing issue. My buddy and i are fighting an rd125 right now (basically the same bike), and timing it was awful. Ended up using a dial gauge in the plug home and a crank position gauge over the stator. Turns out the clymer numbers were right on, and the factory service manual numbers were way wrong!

Mad science bitches!

hmmmm well I only have the factory manual and I had checked it a few times. Would be worth trying it again. thanks!

Well, checked the timing and it was off, started right up and ran great! Now, how do I keep it from changing again? Screws are tight!

Thanks for your help!

That's how it will stay for a couple of thousand miles if you're lucky. The points will eventually wear and have to be adjusted again, but as long as they're tight, ride it and enjoy. Glad you got it sorted dude.
