1976 Suzuki GT250 worth it?

I know I've been posting a lot asking questions about bikes, and I was set on getting a 550, but this JUST popped up in my town on CL so I figured I'd go check it out later tonight. Thats the picture he put up. He's asking 650, I'm thinking tops 450. All stock but the cylinders were rusty so he had them rebored and had new pistons installed, says it starts and rides great. Are these pretty nice bikes? I'm a little concerned that it's a two stroke, my experiences with old two stroke mopeds has led me to believe that they are all loud, stinky, and rather unreliable. I'm cool with loud, I'll even put up with stinky, but I want something I don't have to worry about breaking down anymore than any other 40 year old motorcycle! :P So what do you guys think? Cool little bikes? Rolling disasters? Whats the word?

I would definitely try to buy that. I'm a little biased to Suzuki though.

If it runs at all and has a title, try to talk him down a little.

Well guys, I bought it! He wanted 750 to start, then went to 650, I tried 450 and he said the lowest he could go was 550. Well I only have 500 on me so he grabbed it =D I'm literally bouncing around with excitement. My buddy rode it back to his neighborhood and I hopped on as soon as he parked it. It was my first time sitting on something with a clutch, a little intimidating but after a bit of riding I was getting it up to 55 no sweat. I'm excited to whip this little thing around town! I've gotta get it registered, take my endoresment test, get insurance, and all that jazz though =( I'm going to get as much sorted out as I can this coming week, its to pretty to not ride! HD pics will be coming soon, we took a few tonight and plenty to come tomorrow I'm sure. Excuse my enthusiasm, I'm just completely stoked to finally call a motorcycle my own! Clubmins or clip-ons are coming for sure, the straight back seating position is a little awkward, then peashooters, then rearsets. Any of you guys know a good set of pipes for it? Something with a powerband that kicks in a little lower in the RPMs maybe?

Great little bikes. Not a lot of power down low and most chambers make more top end at the cost of less low down. They like to rev, but not as high as say a Honda twin, surprisingly enough.

Eric (Zookie) has a build thread and knows them inside out.

Hmph, I guess the low end will have to do for now =p My buddy who has been riding a bit was saying it sounded like I kept it in gear too long before shifting up but after I got the hang of it I found he was way off. I had to let the rpms build up for the pipes to really start hitting. I think he found that out when I blew by him later in the night haha! I'll definitely try to find Eric's thread tonight. I look forward to riding the hell out of this thing.
