1978 cb500t oil filter question ....

Hey guys, so ive recently got a 1978 cb500t and want to give it the once over including a oil change before i take it out as im not sure when the previous owner last done it. I know the oil filters on a bike of this age is different to newer bikes ,
my question is..... do i need to change the filter every time i replace the oil ???

any help would be much appreciated.

There actually isn't an oil filter as you know it. You just clean the filter out. If you haven't done it yet pick up a copy or download a copy of the service manual. It will make a lot more sense.

It's a CB500 Twin? I thought they only made them in '75 and '76.
