Hello dotheton,

This is my first post to get involved in the community which I am excited about. Here's just a couple pictures of a 1978 CB750k I picked up as a somewhat basket case, although I would rather not share the price until I get it running... :o

There have been PLENTY of posts about carbss, pods, and jets, but what I am asking seems to be a bit more detailed.

The stock carbs to my motorcycle measure 45mm (outside) and I am looking for k&n pods, not cheap ones. When I search "1978 CB750k k&n pod filters" what comes up are 40mm pod filters. Am I not understanding how they should fit on?

I also have cafe'd out a 81 CM400e with pods, so it's not new to me, but this throws me for a loop.

Should I order smaller pods or larger ones? or find the exact size? (which I haven't yet)

Re: 1978 CB750k

Just ordered 44mm oval k&n pod filters. The only real information I got was to order the size I measured on the carbs, so it will be trial and error. This might have been a stupid post, but definitely want to help people in the future. I'll update when I get the pods later this week.

I'll throw some more pictures up so I can show my journey of somewhat building this bike...

Engine and frame have been powder coated. A bit dusty though... I'll be ordering new engine bolts because those screws are blah.

It came with Dyna S Ignition and coils.

I have to find a way to attach my exhaust for as you can see it is hanging. Should be simple.
