1978 Goldwing Cafe project

This is going to be a new venture for me. Actually customizing a bike to my liking.
This is my third bike. My first was a 1999 Kawasaki Vulcan Drifter. The second was a 2007 Buell Ulysses. Needless to say the riding style of this 78 Goldwing took a little getting used to but it's growing on me. The low price I paid for it helps to quell any misgiving I would have about customizing the crap out of it so here we go.

Here is what she looked like when I bought her from a young guy in Charlotte, NC.

And here is what she looks like at present after a week of those downturned clubman bars killing by back.
I painted the panels flat olive drab, painted the pipes black, painted the bars black and turned them around and up a little. I want to maintain that low profile look with the bars without killing my back. I'm looking for bars that will bring the handles closer to me while remaining low. I also want to blackout the engine and forks, remove the silver fenders and put tail lights and turn signals on the back of the seat mount. I'm going to make the black "leather" brown leather as well. I think that will look great with the olive drab.
