heres the bike at she is now. clubman bars instead of clipons. the clip ons i got created clearance issues

What clearance issues are you referring to? Bars hitting the tank on full lock or trouble routing the brake line/throttle cables?

the bolt on the clip ons are on the inside of the forks so when i go to full lock, it smashes violently into the tank. if they put the bolts on the outside would have no problem :(

UPDATE: tuning's been a nightmare for me. Tomorrow im having my mechanic friend come by and tune it for me. ill have pics and vids up soon.

Someone suggested to me that if I had difficulty jetting the stock carbs with pods, to create block off plates out of aluminum (like a coke can). Cut the material in a half moon shape and place them between the pod filter and carb intake. He said the carbs performed without any problems after that mod. Worth a try and won't cost you anything but some time.

One of the things i hate about buiding: having a life.
Because of work i have not had a chance to work on the bike.

but here's what i have so far
i got these off ebay for $90.. ive been really hesitant on buying these because of the price and im still not sure how i feel about them. The seller gave me the ones with the wrong clevis and i had to drill them out myself. the bottom bolt is scary close to the rear hub.

i finally gave up on pods so i opted for the stock airbox. im getting rid of the clubmans for renthal ultra lows. i should get things up and running tomorrow afternoon.

i really want motocross style foot pegs. does anyone know wat will fit the 79 cb750s? like the ones below...

Those shocks work but I pulled mine 100% apart and put loctite on every thread and actually filled them with oil and set piston in reservoir correctly.

Also they arn't the wrong clevis. They are the ONLY clevis they offer. I too drilled and re tapped the bottom clevis.

I finally figured out why i couldnt tune the damned thing. Most of the valves were too tight and one was way too loose. just waiting on a new head gasket and im good to go. i didnt have to do the coke can mod or anything crazy, there were just too many inconsistencies in this old bike that prevented me from tuning it well (old rubber boots, valves, carbs.) Ill post more pics and vids by the end of the week.

Very nice, looking pretty close to mine! :o I have the same shocks, and I feel as though they ride just fine. Let me know if you try that coke can mod with the carbs. I want to do the gsxr swap also, but if I can get away with the factory ones for now I'll try it.

Hi there.
Realy nice build.
I must ask is that a 750f or 750k bike?
What tank is used? looks to be shorter than original 750f tank.
Regards

thank you!
It's a 750k with the stock tank. i dont know if there was a difference in size between the two tanks.

For the price of the shocks im surpised of how comfy they are. They make the ride smooth and plush. Cornering on the bike feels good too. Plus theyre rebuildable.
