here it goings...

i have a very light constant spark on my left side cylinder. it runs off the right side for about a min and then dies out. so im getting a very now current and not enough to fire the cylinder. im getting fuel carbs are fresh tuned and cleaned. im guessing its the CDI or the pickups at this point. just incase i ordered a new coil and tested it on the left side and i have the same issue with the new coil.

i have changed the plugs / no change
swapped the coils / no change
new left coil / no change
ohm tested coils / within spec
changed rectifier / because i got a power surge that blew out and strobed my headlight

pleeeeeeease help the rat racer live again!!!!

You most likely blew up the cdi box to test unplug the coils make sure you have battery voltage. Then see if there is a pulsed ground on the black wire. I'm in the same boat now. I bought my bike with spark on one side. I got lucky and found a box on the bay for 60 bucks most assholes are wanting over 200 I found a post on chop cult to adapt a gs500 box to run the 450 I'm buying one I'll update my build thread with a how to if it works. You can pm me I can help walk you through the diagnosis.

here is where I got the 500 cdi idea those are like 50 dollars vs 200 plus. Silly how you want what the bike is worth for a part that you cannot test
