Hey guys. I'm going to look at a 1994 yamaha fzr600 tomorrow. Its an hour drive from me so I want to be pretty sure about it. It has 20,000 miles on it and the seller has told me that everything is working perfectly. It also has some pretty new tires on it. The only reservation I have is the transmission. These bikes are known to develop a problem with popping out of 2nd gear under high rpms. I need to buy a bike I can rely on so I'm not sure about buying this one.
How common is this problem?
In your opinion should I go ahead and buy the bike?
If I keep a tight maintenance schedule and don't do any powershifting nonsense will this bike last a long time without transmission troubles?
