1994 Salem by Cobra 20' Campa redo!

little update, getting more little things done. New awning bought as when we tried to unfold the one that came with the camper the whole thing crapped out. We were told by seller it was likely un usable so no surprise. This is for a pop up but works fine. The guide ropes are not in the pic. next is installing 2 new tires and wheels to have 4 new and then the brake controller and fix the brakes for the first trip May long weekend in 2 weeks. Hope they don't need replacing just a clean up and wiring fixed. Got a small microwave for under the cook top and looking for a better mattress if we can find one.

How does it work buying a camper in the US and bringing it back to Canada? At some point I expect I'll get a camper trailer, but have always wondered if I could just show up and cross the border with it or if I'd face some questions. I have any number of utility trailer plates, but I figure plating a camper might be a bit different and that I'd have to 'import' it.

Pretty easy. you need a bill of sale and either the title or depending on state and age of camper a registration signed over, Maine is no title state after 15 years old. You pay the federal tax at border and provincial when you plate it. I pulled it the 2 hours from where I bought it with no plate but you could put a trailer plate on it and pull it to have something on it, just stop and remove before crossing boarder. Trailers are ITN number exempt so you don't have to stop on the US side to export it there. It's easier than cars/bikes. Anything with an engine needs to have an ITN # and be exported by US customs with a 72 hr notice etc.

oh and thanks to Cory(ridesolo)'s suggestion there is 0 signs of pests. He sent me a link to a natural product that keeps mice etc. out and after looking through the camper this spring there was no signs of anything getting in it.

What is that natural product? I wouldn't mind caking my tool shed in it at the cottage.

First trip out this year, rainy long weekend but brakes performed excellent what an improvement. Air bags were awesome till the failed. Need to figure what happened but about 60 miles in it started swayibg and bouncing and when I stopped to check things they had 0 psi. Put air to them again, they held for maybe 15 miles then poof. Hoping just a loose fitting as they make towing way more pleasant. Campground did a foam party abd all I caught was chub but was fun between rain storms.
