Been Around the Block
Hello folks,
This is my first bike, but I'm not totally lost mechanically, at least not aside from this little thing.
I have one exhaust pipe that ends up being about 400 degrees after a little ride, and one that's just barely warm to the touch. The right cylinder just doesn't seem to want to fire.
So far, I have:
Cleaned and rebuilt both carbs at least three times.
Checked float bowls and fuel lines, there's fuel in the right side bowl for sure.
Checked the coil, which lead me to check spark.
Checked spark on both sides and verified a nice fat blue arc.
Also did basic tuneup stuff like the cam chain and valve clearance, the ignition point is perfect, fuel petcock is working correctly, and so on.
I have swapped the carbs and the problem follows the right side carb when this is done. This tells me that there's an issue with the carb somewhere but I can't find it to save my life. I also found that when I bought the bike the right side had a 180 main, and now they both have 98s. The carbs are built exactly the same way and I've been through every single passageway with a small guage wire to make sure they're all clean.
Any ideas would be awesome. This is the last step to having a really clean survivor bike and I'd like to be able to ride it a little before it's super winter around here.
Also, when riding, the bike bogs under heavy throttle and doesn't seem to have the power to move itself forward. Of course this is on one cylinder, but that's what it does if that's helpful.
