Those rearsets look good. Any clearance issues with the kick starter?

Thanks, according to Viet you cannot use the stock kickstarter, it will not clear. You have to get one from a CB450.

Ok, I need some DTT help. I am working on installing the wiring harness and I have many multi-point connections to make. Up front I have (3) four point connections, and the many grounds to connect. In the back its almost as many. My question is, is there a good connector that is designed just for this, or a way to make these connections without solder or a crappy looking crimp. All I have are these 3 point connectors and they won't cut it.

For example, I have 4 orange wires to connect for the left turn signal, and just as many for the right and the running lights. Then there are the grounds.

I would check back with

http://www.vintageconnections.com/

It looks like they have a 4 way connection on there price page. If that wont work use two three way connectors in line to make all the connections you need. Kind of like piggybacking two connectors with a very short wire between them

Re: 71 Indignant CB175 - Wiring & Linkage Done!

Might be good to figure out how many you need first. so you don't have to make more than one order.

Re: 71 Indignant CB175 - Wiring & Linkage Done!

I saw the ones on vintage connections site, but I was looking for something different. I am going to go with these cheap terminal strips. One front, one rear should tidy everything up.

if you do use a couple of terminal blocks, make sure you get the insulated ones ;)

Oh nice! Where may I find those sir? If I can get those then I won't have to undo all my nice connector work.

Well I guess its been while. I suppose you all are expecting to see a painted tank and seat...

I uh...its a lot of sanding. So much so that I will seriously consider not undertaking anything else in the future that has to do with fiberglass or filler.

Right now the last touch up of filler is on the seat, to get those last little holes and marks to go away. Tomorrow I will do a final sanding and I will be ready for paint.

I also finally got the rear turn signals mount as well. I had them mounted before with the bolt on the outside of the frame. As it turns out, when the seat is mounted, the bolt catches when it lifts on the hinges. So I got some...well I don't know what they are called, but I turned them into something that resembles a weld nut and drove a bolt from the inside of the frame.

And I got the kickstand installed.

Still finishing up installing the wiring as I was waiting on the turn signals. No progress on the clutch either.

WHAT??? it's not painted ??? lol, no need to rush these things! Would hate to be looking at it and think I wish i'd taken more time.

Those are called Tee Nuts.
It looks like neither of us are going to win for September...

Did you use a layer of bondo body filler on top of the fiberglass?

Yes, auto body filler coated over the fiberglass, then sanded smooth.

Apparently not. Good things take time right? ;)

I'm waiting on the rear sets from Viet for my CB200. Did you have any trouble rotating the rear brake lever 180 degrees so that it was pointed up and not down? I noticed mine has a notch in the mounting post that goes into the drum so that it can only be put on in one direction...

The shaft on the brake drum for the CB175 has splines all around except for a small portion. This can be faced at 90 or 270 degrees (up or down). So for me, it was just a matter of rotating the shaft to allow the brake arm to face upwards. I am not familiar with the CB200.
