So I attempted to break the spare lever, which has holes bigger than the ones on my bike. No luck. I wailed on that motherfucker against a piece of angle iron vised down. I'm a big strong dude. No way those levers are going to break under any kind of braking that can be applied by hand. Maybe in the event of a crash they will break more easily than stock, but in the event of a crash lots of other shit is going to break too. I have convinced myself of the stability of this part.

In the event of a crash, who gives a fuck about a broken brake/clutch lever? Crash checklist goes as follows:
1) am I alive?
2) can the bike be fixed?
3) where is the motherfucker who hit me?

levers can be fixed much easier than most of the shit that gets wasted in a crash! Rock those levers, they look sick!

thay will be fine i did the same on my controls been useing them for about 2 years and must of droped the bike about 5 times and still have held up fine keep speed holeing haha

i think it looks cool, being that he is doing this with a press he can set the depth on the press and they will all be the same depth and really look cool. i went nuts a few weeks ago on a heel guard i had and scewed it all up... drunk speed hole'n is not a good idea... the lines are all over the place looks like a cluster FK

Haven't been messing with the 750 much lately, but I just sent the money off via paypal for a new(to-me) tank. It's another stock tank, but I got it for 34.00 shipped, so I'm going to beat some knee dents into it and maybe some clip on dents. Just a little more clearance on my bars would be nice! On my head light project i've decided to go the same way that rawfish went and just extend a stock bucket using fiberglass then mount the speedo into it. Robbie's bike has been taking up most of my time lately, but he hasn't wanted to work on it in a few days, so I'll be working on my 750 as soon as this tank gets here! I'm actually pretty stoked about getting the tank as I've always been hesitant to go beating on my tank since I don't have another one. Here are some pics of the tank I just bought.

There's some iffy bondo work on the one side, but I think I'll be able to work with it. I also did some touch-up painting on the motor and some other bits. I'll throw up a pic of the bike with the next update.

I got my tank in the mail today! The inside is pretty okay and the cap is in better shape than the one on my tank now. I got a good look at the bondo and... I'm not scared! I'll get the knee dents beat into into it as soon as I finish up this side job I'm workin every night (day after tomorrow). I've got a whole lot of projects goin right now and I'm starting to feel overloaded on the bikes. I found a yamaha 4 down a country road for sale and I had to back myself down! I got some touch up paint done on my jugs a week or so back and it's holding up perfectly. I'll include a picture of the bike.

It hasn't been finished at all. I guess I'm going to sand blast it or use some stripper to get the paint off before I go to beating knee and bar dents into it.
And here's Dolores, it's been a while since she's showed up here...

Up next for Dolores is the front brake (for real this time). Then the headlight mounted speedo/shaved top triple clamp project, then a redo on all of the cases, then some other little stuff before I can call her done (for now).

Alex, big thanks bro to you for being so fucking cool to just let me come to your work, steel your bike, and then ride all evening on such a beautiful day! I had a great ride and it was just what I needed! Therapeutic! While on a great ride, I thought I would snap some pics for you! Sorry about the April fools joke, but I am glad that you did ask if I was OK before you ask about the bike! Here are the pics!

I just noticed the body line on the seat cowl. cool. I miss the gulf coast sometimes. I dont miss getting hit by every hurricane in the ocean though.

Just so you guys know, all these pics were taken on one of our normal ride routes. It is the road that both Alex and I live off of, it goes down to Fort Morgan, which is a cool place to visit. Some of the pics were taken there as you can tell! Other pics were just me pulling over on the side of the road and taking a few snaps!

Thanks Cresent. I love those pipes too! I keep saying I'm going to put on this 4-into-1 header I've got, but I just love the look and sound of the 2-into-1's!
Wassup binny? Glad ya like it dude, and anything I can help with just let me know! I have tons of parts for the sohc750's and I can't wait to see some progress on your 750.

Yesterday as I'm helping my wife by doing some maintenance on some of her units (she handles rentals, cleaning and maintenance on condo's and beach houses) She says "I'd like to go for a ride I think." Well that's awesome because she hasn't rode since last summer and that was before I did all of the work on the bike. And I hadn't rigged up a taillight to go on my factory seat. Shit! So I went home and threw something together really quickly! I had picked up a lid for a boiling pot because it was aluminum and I knew I could cut it with some tin snips. I made a template out of some cardboard and cut it out. Then I traced it out onto the aluminum and cut it out with my tin snips. I bent it up and drilled two holes to mount the taillight and one bigger hole to run the wiring through. After I attached the taillight to the bracket I drilled holes in the seat pan and riveted the bracket to the bottom of the seat. Then I put some connectors onto the wiring and viola! A two up seat complete with taillight that can swapped on and off in two minutes! This whole process was done in the time it took my wife to change into riding clothes!

The wife and I did about 30 miles last night and I'm very happy that we can ride together again. She doesn't really like to ride because she says she feels like she's going to fall off! She wants me to put a backrest on my bike! Hell-to-the-no! So yesterday after we got back home I asked her if she was ready to let me buy us a touring bike... and she said "Yes!" Now if I can just find an old Goldwing or Venture Royale for next to nothing! Just what I need... another fucking project!

Hey man, how different does it feel to be sitting on the factory seat? Sitting higher, closer to the bars, and more over the pegs! I bet it is a big change from the cafe seat!
