73 CL350 Oil Problem

I was riding the bike around the other day and I noticed a bunch of light smoke coming off the engine after I got home. I noticed that there was a small oil leak on the right side of the bike up above the spark plug where you adjust the valves. It seems unusual to have a leak that high, and I am worried that I have a bad cylinder ring and oil is getting where it shouldn't. Any ideas?

Overhead cam engine had better have oil in the region above the spark plug... Most likely needs a new valve cover gasket, some engines use paper, some use a cereal box type cardboard, some use o-ring types. Any one of which can/will leak if it gets old (or the fasteners back out from engine vibration, perfectly normal by the way).

Put up a pic, I haven't messed with a 350 in years and don't recall how the valve covers are set up on them. I know my ancient 250 twin just has an o-ring for each cover...

Probably the rocker spindle o-rings are flattened.
