dude i am digging the black fenders heaps...... i am sorry but i will be pinching that one hahaha. i was just explaining to a mate how good powdered fenders would be with polished hubs spokes and black rim and that pic you posted was perfect a example.

BTW, make sure regulator case isn't grounding to the plate (I forget why but it isn't good)

is that right? I never heard that there are some rubber washers on the mounting holes maybe i need to make a little case for mine too. I wonder about the rectifier too? Is it ok to just bolt that thing sideways to a grounded surface. It is like suspended in the stock config.

Spare parts; was initial idea. Engine is seized; bike was exposed to elements (Canadian) for couple of years.
Injected WD-40 and brake fluid mix in cylinders last night. In left cylinder fluid is gone, right one holds. Will see if engine is fine it might be a driver. I like front drum brake and no starter.

Electric pan is placed to utilize existing wiring and to hide all components.



PJ, yes bike is CJ not a CB my bad and will check that regulator case is not touching ground.

Rectifier has a ground strap on back and HAS to be bolted directly to a good ground.
Doesn't matter what position it is bolted in as long as it has a good ground
Regulator must be grounded through green wire only and case must be insulated from ground.
I'm wondering if it's part of the reason so many people have charging issues?

I was too slow, by 30 min, with that parts bike, but good thing it found a good home. I might be interested in few parts if she's beyond repair.

I think it would be a good idea to mount a piece of plastic sheet under the regulator, the original mount on battery box (or tool box, depending on year) has a 'stand off' to make sure vibration won't allow case to ground out
