74' CB750 Tail Lights dont work.

So I recently had my headlight bucket off to be painted. I marked all of the wiring with numbers to make sure I got all of them back where they are supposed to go. That being said....my tail lights dont work now that I have all of the wiring in the HL bucket reconnected! I have checked and rechecked all of the wiring. Coincidence or is there wiring in the HL bucket that corresponds to the tail lights? My break lights and rear turn signals work. I have replaced the bulbs just because. I have checked the wiring from the tail lights forward. I have checked the fuses.

The tail light is not stock. 2 double filament bulbs, each socket having a blue lead and a yellow lead. Each blue lead is plugged into the Brown wire (tail light wire) and each yellow is plugged into the Green/Yellow wire (break light wire) and then of course they each have a groud wire.

I have been fighting this for about a week now so any and all help would be tremendously appreciated!

I just wanna ride!

Probably not coincidence. I'm not familiar with the exact bike you're refering to, but all of the lighting is fed through the ignition switch. Which means that wiring is usually bundled behind the headlight. I'd start by pulling the headlight and checking the connections. See if you can find a wiring diagram too, it'll help greatly with identifying what wires you should be looking for.

Yep the running lights wiring goes through the headlight bucket. Believe it or not, the exact same thing happened to me. You probably accidentally broke a wire inside its plastic coating, or rubbed the plastic coating off and now its grounding out. Grab a wiring diagram and find out what color the wires for the rear running light are, and test the continuity.
