74 CL360 seat/tank setup

so I'm still trying to get a seat/tank set up that works on my 1974 CL360. the pics here show the stock tank with a seat I bought off of glass from the past a while back. the mounting tab on the back of the tank is really high so nothing fits flush with the tank. I'm looking for input/feedback/ideas here. Does it make sense to make an extra piece of foam and cover it in the same material as the seat...and just place in on the tab/gap area? Or is there a better way to do this?

Here is my 2nd option. It's a larger tank off a CB450?. I personally think this one looks way better but would like a second opinion

As long as it mounts securely, I would go with the 450 tank 8)

Agreed, looks like it was built that way. And, the paint looks pretty decent as is. Which can save you a lot of aggravation.
