77 kz400s cafe

Just got a kz400s and am now starting a cafe project with it. I wish that I would have gotten some pictures of it when I got it, it was a real mess but here it is after a bit of work.

I still havent got it to fire yet I know that I need carb boots, points, and a new coil but its coming along
 
Glad to see another 400S! they seem to be popping up all over the place!

Dude I love your bike if I can make mine half as nice I will be happy!
 
The KZ400s are good,solid running bikes as are all the Japanese 350/400 twins of that era. They were simple,reliable and over built in many cases and that is why you still see so many alive today.

I cant really believe how cheap parts are for these bikes and how easy it is to throw on parts from other bikes. The other day I had on the front end to a cb350f on it and it was a breeze!

No problem the exhaust is just off the stock S model with the muffler chopped off. After I bolted them in at the head they were rock solid so I dont think that I'm going to add hangers to them.
