I ordered a set of push/pull cables for my 1978 Honda CB550k from a reputable shop that caters to the vintage UJM world. The part numbers are 02-0007 for the pull and 02-0008 for the push. When trying to install the pull, the inner cable appears to be at least 3cm too short. I can easily slip the eye of the inner cable into the pull slot on the carb...but there's no way that I'll be able to get the threaded end of the outer sleeve into it's position. Even if I pull it into position - it would result in the carb being full open all the time. If I compare it to the old crusty cable, it looks way shorter. The push cable looks to be the same.

If I search out 02-0008 and 02-0007, 0008 is a dead end but 0007 is listed. It doesn't list the bike it is intended for but the comments section has someone talking about installing it on a '75 CB750F.
WTF?? Am I missing something obvious about installing the throttle cable? Can other people check what motion pro cables they are using...it should be printed on the cable.
