79 CB 650 motor swap into 78 CB 550k ??

I will try to keep this short and sweet... I have the opportunity to acquire a 79 CB 650 with title , not running since 97, motor not seized but complete ( its more of a parts bike)...... also a CB 360t. Motor runs , but bike is not compete and needs some work.

I have not seen either bike, just a few crappy pics from my buddys cell.... They are asking $600 for the Cb 650 or $1100 for both.
What I have is a 78 CB 550k... I remember reading about being able to "swap" a 79 to 82 CB 650 motor into a 550 ?? is this ture, possible or kRaZy talk

Any info on the 650/550 motor swap, and info on the CB 360t (which I know nothing about!!)

i did mine was easy i did use the 650 wiring harness so i did nt have to screw around with splicing charging systems or ignition crap

ThX CX, not much info on the link? Did you do a build thread during the swap ?? Just wondering what kind of aftermarket there is for the 650 motor ?? carbs, exhaust ect ??

no the swap predates build threads lol

the motor is basically a drop in

i re worked the 650 exhaust to fit the 550 but today i am sure there is more available

ThX CX, deffinatlly interested in the any info on any aftermarket mods to do on the Cb 650 motor... Looking for advice on Big Bore kits,Carbs and exhaust upgrades for the 650
