79 CB750-First Cafe and God help me not the last!

I've kept terrible tabs on progress, but here I go! Last August I made the exciting leap into the cafe racer world when I purchased a less than running 79 cb750LE. Promptly after that I broke my arm (not on my not running bike!) Venturing into this project with a vague idea and my father as the brains, I've been sexying up my first cafe. Here are my pictures in order, it was "finished", meaning I was absolutely going to ride it before it snowed, at one point until the exhaust chain guide decided to break off and have a party in my cylinder and share shavings of itself allll over inside the case. I have taken the chance of a free frame to go hog wild with rattle cans on the frame, comstars, and everything except some things, in between. Gentlemen, I give you the "Big Sky Belle"

The tank and seat cowl were my first ever attempt of what one would call a "professional paint job" I chose the green and went after it. At the time I worked in a vinyl sign shop-so I made myself some nifty teeth decals. Here are a few more recent photo's of my rattle-can sesh. Have black headlight brackets, and 2 sets of turn signals on the way from DCC and my Head at the Honda shop awaiting some valve-revival.

Looks really good man! I think if you shortened up that front fender it would tie it in better with the rest of the bike.

Thanks! Ha, yeah not sure if you can tell in the lower picture but we had shortened the fender up a bit. My dad saw the marks I made and promptly took charge of the project so it would still be functional ;D Might go for another round of shortening once I see how heavy it looks with the new black comstars with tires on it.

I am liking the warbird style you got going on, Flying Tigers ya know. She seems to be adapting well to the mods. Only thing that stuck out to me was the angle you have the Master Cylinder resivour at. If you have the fluid level so it doesn't spill out when the lid is removed it seems it may be close to allowing air into the port for the masters piston.
Can you rotate it to a more level position?
Keep up the updates, always nice to see anothers ideas on a DOHC 750.

Thanks! I was blasting the tank one afternoon and the bare metal happened to strike me as an aircraft aluminum look. Didn't take long after that to come up with the P40 style. I like the idea of one beautiful machine being an ode to another, otherwise completely unrelated. Thanks for the heads up on the master cylinder res, I tend to overlook the small (important) details when I'm focused on trying to achieve the overall aesthetic!
