81 CB650 Brat/Cafe Build

There is also a solid green wire that doesn't go anywhere. It's coming out with the two blinker relay wires. I've grounded that and it doesn't do anything. Any idea where that would get connected? I'll double check everything up front and make a new ground.
 
some honda's have extra grounds for accessories in the harness. My 450T did and my GL has like 3. Wiring diagram usually has them. if not you are missing a ground that should go to it.
 
Right, so the brown is one signal + and the black the other. One of the 2 greens may not be properly grounded, the one with the dual plug is likely your signal ground, so the 2 share the one ground. What you can do to see if it is the ground is hook the + to the appropriate colour then use a temp ground to a good clean spot on the frame or motor (no paint) and see if they work, if they do, trace those ground wires for a break. IF they don't the issue is in the + wires coming either from the bar switch or the relay.
 
Here's how the turns are plugged in right now. I labeled them when I pulled the original ones and put the new corresponding turn with them
 
Figured it out, both + wires from the turns get plugged into that black wire. Finally, the bike is done electrically wise. I have a clutch cover gasket coming in tomorrow and then I have to figure out how to mount the CB750 wire wheel on the front. I need to swap over one of my rotors but mine are 5 bolts and the wheel is a 6 bolt.

that may bite you in the ass. I'll try to check an early 6 bolt rotor for diameter and offset compared to the newer one....but if you grabbed a 78+ spoked front wheel it would've been 5-bolt and your rotor would've swapped right over.
 
Glad you got it cause the pic is all screwed up, if the black and black white are the new signal wires you have one going into the + flasher circuit and the other into the + for your front running lights. nothing to ground.
 
Well I screwed up. The wheel I bought won't work so I'm pulling the tire off of it and trying to sell it. It's in great shape but I can't use it. I found a front wire wheel of an 82 CB650 with what looks like a good tire so that'll be here next week.
 
Well, she rides wonderfully! Got the clutch back together and it went into gear with no issues. Took it out for a spin and she performed surprisingly well despite not being tuned or jetted. All the gears work, brakes well, and responds very well. Needs some minor adjustments here and there but she's back in the road!

Thanks! There's nothing better than tearing something apart, building it, and having it all work. It's a blast to ride.

Some adjustments that need to be made include taking some slack out of the clutch, rear brake, and figuring out why the speedo doesn't work.

Oh man are you sure? My bike is nowhere near the scale of bikes in BOTM. I have my new wire wheel coming in Wednesday, I can get some good shots of it then or Thursday if that works.
 
Why not... I've seen a pink and black minibike win... Your bike is what this place is about... sure its BOTM worthy. I'll nominate it and you can add the picks and build summary later.

Why thank you! Come to think of it, I didn't realize how many hours I have into it. It's a lot haha.

So my speedo doesn't work. Tore everything apart, cable is good, wheel mechanism is good and turns as should, and everything in the speedo itself is lined up, works and is not broken. I'm confused.
