hey guys i am a total cm nood and am in need of some help concerning my pods i just installed. last thing i want to do is put my stock air box back on but have run into a problem. after installing the new pods and connecting the oil tube(not sure what this is called) from the top end to extend all the way to the old air box tube, took it for a test ride and oil went everywhere. the common oil all over my right leg stuff but also all over the rest of the cycle as well. top end, bottom end, fenders(both), seat on the right side. it amazed me on how it seemed to be everywhere and not just on the right side. is there a suction type accessorie i need to purchase to add to this or how would i replicate what to do with how the oem air box functioned.

i have searched the forums for answers and came up short. if there are threads on this(i am sure there are) could you please point me in that direction or comment on this. thank you ahead of time for your help guys. looking forward to showing off my build. i am in the process of creating my profile.

You're valve cover breather has a problem. Did it leak oil before you added the pods? I'm thinking it shouldn't be extended to the length you are describing. It's almost like the pulse isn't enough to flow through the length of the tube and you created a vacuum similar to how a siphon works. Disconnect the hose from the valve cover and see if it still spews oil as you are describing. If that fixes it pick yourself up a UNI filter.

fresh_c,

no oil leak before i put the pods on. i will check it out later on, huge thanks for your input!

did you DIY your uni filter like that or am i able to purchase like that? also do you know the stock carburetor size, the size cone filter size i should purchase? i have the air pod looking deals (that the seller included in the purchase), took out oem airbox and slapped those on. looks like you have either bigger carbs and air pods or something totally different. how do you like your set up compared to others?

***sorry for all the questions, like i said i am a total noob at all this stuff. any and all info i can get is a huge help***

It's a stock UNI filter; I believe they are called "breather filters" if that helps. I'm no longer running stock carbs so I can't help you with the diameter for the pods. All you need to do with measure the diameter with a rule and you're good. The Mikunis I'm running are great if you want your bike to run good without the stock air box, but they are kinda tedious to setup.
