81 Suzuki GS450 Casual Build | Tarozzi Clip-ons mounted

SquadraCorse

Coast to Coast
It's become apparent that I'm not going to be able to leave this bike stock ::) I have some good plans in the works for the off season, but for this summer it's getting some small mods here and there. I figured I'd put up a build thread for the small stuff I'm doing over the summer, then a proper thread for over the winter. Not many people cafe this bike out for some reason. I think it's a great cafe in it's stock form, but what fun is that?

When I got her:

New Supertrapp muffler to replace the chrome rattle box:

New stop for the center stand:

The stock rear lighting setup:

New revised lighting. LED taillight, DCC aluminum turns. It turned out alright. I need to make some nicer spacers out of aluminum for the turn signals. Just using the stock white plastic ones at the moment. I am also going to make a new mount for the plate that will change the angle of it, and cover up the exposed holes in the fender piece.

Next up for the summer mods will be some Tarozzi Clip Ons and Fork Brace along with fork gaiters.

Awesome. I love the supertrapp. Wish I could find a decent 2-1 for mine that wasn't full of holes. I love my GS and have a similar plan to yours. We just got our summer here in Seattle today finally. Lots of riding to do for now.

My Tarozzi Clip-Ons showed up quickly from Fast From the Past. Great place with cool parts. I mounted them up and pulled the fairing off for now. Dropped the front end enough to mount the clip-on's on top of the top tree. Feels a hell of a lot different then the riser bars that were on there. Will take a little getting used to.

Also bled the front brake out. Yes.....that's brake fluid, not old motor oil.....

Thank god you got rid of the awful front fairing and large turn signals. Clip-ons look good. Actually looks decent now. Put off that grab bar on the back :)

The bar is definitely coming off, but I'll need to fill the holes that it leaves and paint it.

I'm not sure what I'm going to do for a seat over the winter. This one is real comfortable and I like the shape. Plus the girl likes that it's 2-up.
I would like a bum stop seat though, and then put my tarozzi rear sets on it. The tank has a great shape, so I could make a pretty decent cafe out of it.

Probably going to go with a half fairing similar to this:

I have the same bike, but mine is completely stock. I think it's the most under appreciated Suzuki of the 80s and yours is really nicely done. I sent you a pm, I crashed mine two nights ago, if you, or anybody has one of the stock fairings or windscreens I'm looking for one. What size/model is the supertrapp? I want to go that route also. Thanks!
