82 cm450e cafe build

Hey guys, Im conrad
I ended up scooping up a pretty decent cm450 -- Doesnt look too pretty but it runs fairly strong.
First on my list of purchases:
Clip ons
a new seat
intake pods

Anyone have any experience with purchasing the above products for a cm450? If so, any info/links would be greatly appreciated!
Also, I have a question which someone might be able to help with -- It seems if I crack the throttle in basically any gear about 1/4 of the way the bike just kind of bogs, theres no gain in acceleration. If i open the throttle even more 1/2 - 3/4 all the sudden there is a huge surge of power and the bike feels alive again. Previous owner said he took it to a shop and cleaned the carbs/got it tuned up. Any ideas on where to start investigating?
Thanks.

My 400 likes a bit of choke until it's warmed up.
Also was missing screws from the airbox lid. These bikes are sensitive - having learned that, I wouldn't consider pods.

Thanks for the heads up, I guess ill hold off on the pods until I get a chance to checkout what carbs and everything im running.
The previous owner mocked up a seat pan for it already so I may use that a basis to build a cafe seat.

Ive begun stripping off the simple stuff at lunch, sissybar/rearpegs/trumpet mufflers

What I did over the weekend:
stripped tank
installed headlight ears
installed clip ons
stripped upper triple tree
put on header wrap
removed ugly gauge
removed misc shit, front blinkers/reflectors/etc
tightened up the seat, it was lookin loose and nasty
painting front fender and one side cover now. I need to find another battery cover as I only have the one for the left side.

I also need to figure out what to do with the whole rear section, found a nice seat which I think ill end up biting the bullet and just buying it. Can anyone with a similar style chime in on what they did with their rear fender? Those blinkers and huge tail light have got to go -- maybe mounting something like this to under nearth the seat?

I used it on my old xs650 and looked pretty nice.

Looking good man. How's it running? Done anything new on it lately?

I'm still in the process of building a cafe from my CM450. I stripped it completed down. Here's my thread...
