Hey guys new to this site n just started to build a bike I had a question about running the rear shock from the swing arm to the end of that tube. I was gonna built a threaded bung as a end cap n use that as my shock mount. Just tryin to do something different. Any thoughts? Thanks.

Different is good, but it has to work reliably and safely. That cantilevered stup will have a bit of force on it. Despite your angled brace shown, I suspect if you ride the bike regularly, the stub will fatigue and break off.... When you hit a bump, you will have shock loads on it, causing it to flex, work harden, then crack and break.

different for sure, safe and reliably, not so...

The rear suspension is a triangle formed by the swingarm pivot, upper shock mount and lower. When the shock functions, it compresses and thus its length is less. If you change the length of any side of a triangle, you effect all angles of the structure. Thus, each point must pivot along the same axis.

In short, if you mean you're going to mount the shock so that the upper pivots perpendicular to the other two points, you're going to have problems.

Gotcha. Is there any resources that I can read so I can make it right. Definitely want to lower the rear of the bike. The angle in the pic isnt the angle I planned on using. Was just a pic I had to use at the moment.
