Adhering plastic badges to Hodaka tank

Hello,

I am currently working on a cafe build of a 1980 KZ440. I am looking for some advice on the aesthetic work of my gas tank, which is from an old Hodaka "Road Toad." Photos are attached for reference.

The brand badges which are originally on the Hodaka tank have been removed, and I am planning on cutting out my own badges to be hand painted by a friend of mine. The overall diameter is 6 CM. I was curious as to which type of sheet plastic might be best for this application, and also any recommendations as to which method/adhesive I should use to attach these to the inlay in the tank. Been looking into various brands of two-part epoxies, and am looking for the one that will hold up best under speed/moderate weather.

Also interested in any advice as to painting this tank; it will have a bit of Bondo to repair a dent on the left side so powder coating is out. Any recommendations on automotive primer/paints would be appreciated. Tank will be a gloss black, badges will be white plastic. Hoping to have the bike entirely done in May 2015.

Thanks for any help you can give.

I use the double sided tape made for holding automotive trim on. Go to a place that sells supplies to body shops and get the good stuff, it'll work better than epoxy IMHO.
