adjust cb360 clutch help

Been Around the Block
so i took off cases and reinstalled with new bolst, but now my clutch has no resistance. i tried the damn manual but maybe im not reading it correctly. anyone have any useful tips?

No tension in the clutch lever? I'm fairly new to this but make sure you have the ball bearing in place, hopefully it didn't fall out when you removed the cover.

+1 on the ball grease the farker in there, then just do as the manual says. Tips include don't do the full 1/4 turn do about half that at the screw in the middle of the cover. At the handle leave the adjuster out about 1/4" to give you some room to adjust freeplay at the handle and for fine tuning. Do most if not all the initial adjustment at the sprocket cover.

Me I go by the book and have no issues with it.

Make sure your clutch perch is screwed all the way in,to create slack in the line , same with the clutch casing screw all the way in, then you can start ,follow the manuals steps .like frog man i too didnt do the hole 1/4 do a little less then that there is a sweet spot to it, you just have to find it. if clutch line needs slack taken away start with the casing screw buy now backing it out,and then you can work your way back to the clutch perch . I hope this makes sense!

If you are using the original Honda Manual for re-assembly, be careful. Some of the exploded diagrams were printed with the Ball bearing in the wrong location.

yea sorry about not searching first. i found an old thread about it written up a ways back. still have the bearing, just looking for the g-spot...i mean sweet spot

how far out should that bearing be out out? mine looks as if its pressed in there pretty well. i would assume that to be correct but this is my first clutch issue. it almost seems that my clutch line has been stretched. this really gets me raging, because i just timed and gapped points synced carbs, seems as if its really ripping , until i try to put it in gear and the rear tire grabs

it should be pressed in the hole is its home. keep adjusting you will get it. It took me several tries

I believe he's referring to the retainer with the 3 bearings in it at the end of that thread. They're talking about the clutch pop issue. Sorry now I'm confused where you are with your problem

well it goes like this. as i took off clutch case, i deicided to take off tool box and insert all requisite parts in itwith grease on them still. emptied out box during reinstall, and the damn three bearing deal ws stuck and never noticed. i f****d up, please disregard this post and my idiocity.

Hey we all have to learn some how man, good it was something simple like that. I hate the damn ball, it falls out and goes rolling and I go cussing and swearing chasing after it.

No worries you just need to play mad scientist and over analize the sittuation next time . we have all been there ;D
