Time to get this thing goin. I want to get a group of guys/gals together to do a ride to mid ohio. i have never been to the event and am excited to get there. I don't know an exact schedule of the event but I was planning on going saturday morning. This will be a Saturday morning Ride I would like to get as many riders together as we can so it would cool to get akron and cleveland riders to meet at a cental locale. By my outstanding mapquesting skills I think that medina would be a suitable on the way locale. there is a motorcycle shop rick roush motorsports off 71 on rt 18 which would make an ideal meeting spot. i would like to be at the show approx 1000 (bear in mind i don't know the schedule, but if someone is more familiar can enlighten the thread it would be helpful) I would like to take backroads as i think that is more fun to ride than highway. I googleeed it and found this route. I am not familiar with this part of ohio so if anyone has a better route please present it. I just think it would be cool to get a group of dtt guys together and ride into the show. I am also tossing around the idea of camping saturday but not sure yet. If anyone wants to do a group camp (im not sharing my tent) then let's talk about that too. again i am new to the event so veteran views are certainly appreciated. that's all

As for camping if you dont get there thur be ready to be out in the field with not a drop of shade. Its either HOT or a down pour or both lol but well worth it all . The event starts every day when people wake up after a night of fun and start moving around . Every day theres somekind of racing going on either on the track,motocross track,trials . Dont know times on anything just kind of what you feel like doing at any given time . And you cant forget the swap meet as its BIG hell you could spend the day just wakin around it !
 
yeah i saw that thread but wanted to get something that we could follow and not clog that thread as i think alot of folks from all around are going. It will be that crowded with camping huh well whatever i will have to see. are you goin? Want to ride down or what man
 
Yea will be down there most of the weekend ! Not planning on staying down there as ive been there done that and a pool and drink sounds better then hot and hard ground lol Dont have all the plans together yet on when and what route will be taking yet ! I do know there seems to be alot of DTT members heading there !
 
Just checked the website and 71 is undergoing construction from mile 150-158 for all who planned on taking that route
 
If i remember right thats a lil after the track exit we take so shouldnt be to bad and if so there are a few back roads around it will do some checking !
 
I plan on it but not so sure, if the funds are right ill go. I wont have anything to ride though so the Mazda it is.
 
Pretty sure I will be headed down there on something Italian, depends if I have a passenger or not if, I could do a ride
 
I'm in, still working to have the 650 on the road for Cleveland Mods & Rockers before then, if not I'm on my 850. If we take rt42 down can even show some points of interest-cruise through downtown Ashland and stop by B&B cycle in Mansfield. If anyone is interested could meet a little earlier than 10:00 and get breakfast at a little diner on the square in Medina (can't remember the name of the place).

All right people, one week to go! So who else is going to meet axuegene and me in Medina on Saturday morning? Anyone who's interested let me know- I'll pm my cell#. Looks like we will meet on the square and get some road chow before heading down. probably stop at B&B cycle in Mansfield to show everyone the best shop I've ever seen for used parts. They usually have a stand at the swap meet as well.

pvdnh, if you are going we can meet in our area and ride to Medina together.

Wahoo. Sounds good you want to meet at 9?. Sadly my old honda will not be road worthy by that time. I will ride my newer honda. That's ok I feel better about her at this point expessially on a long trip. So we can meet in the square at 9 I will be riding a black 99' honda magna. I'll be wearing a black bobble head 3/4 helmet. Excited to go to this. We still have to nail out a good route. As I said in the original post I would rather avoid the freeway.
 
Yeah, 9:00 north side of the square. I should be on my XS650 cafe, black. Wearing a white Aria full face and white & back joe rocket mesh jacket. Call me if you can't find me- I PM'd you my cell a while back. I haven't heard from Patrick yet, so it's just you and me so far. I'm thinking we just shoot down 42 to Lexington.

alright wahoo so tomorrow 9 am in the square I'll be there ready to ride. Looks like we will have a nice dry ride in the mid eighties.. Anyone else coming along??
 
Just wanted to say Saturday was a pretty damn good day. Put a lot of miles on the 650 with good company. We definitely need to head down to the AMA Museum before too long- maybe a good ride for a Saturday in September?
