well here is the state i'm at now

with the solo seat

and

with the 2-up seat

both are stock pans, so i can just pull the seat pins and change seats

i just need to cut off the old fender mounts out back

Looks great bro... I love the difference between the whole look of the bike with the different seats. I'm also keeping the seats on my cb750 easily interchangeable... at least until I can afford to buy a nice gl1000 for my wife and I to ride two up 8)

the solo seat sure does change the bike. i think i'm still going the put in pod filters and move the battery so i can get rid of the side panels.

oh and a set of clip-ons

The bike looks great. I really like the tank with the solo seat. Where are you planning to relocate the battery? What kind of pod filters are you putting on?

i'll be using uni-pods and relocating the battery to where the airbox sits. i'd like to mount it under the front of the seat to keep the area behind the pods clear. that won't happen til i get a sealed gel battery


i'd like to find a chrome maxim rear fender and cut it down, so i have a place to mount the tail light and plate

You could always get a piece of aluminum to make a mounting bracket instead of chopping down a fender. Cut and bend it to shape. I imagine that it would be cheaper than buying the fender...and easier to find.
