Another CB360 VM30 swap, tuning questions

Hey all,

Current set up:
All stock CB 360 with 1k miles, bench synced VM30's w/ Mikuni manifolds to UNI pods
Jetting:
Main- 135
Pilot- 40
Needle- 6F5, 2 or 3 clip
Needle jet- 176 P8
Slide- 3.0
Air jet- 2.0
Air screw- variable
At sea level, 75f and kind of humid

Symptoms:
Will only start/run choked with throttle slightly cracked. I can give it more throttle but sounds a bit bogged and will only rev to 4k. Will die w/out throttle. Running a bit rough, left side is not firing properly, which is new but not sure if related. Idled great and was rideable-ish w/ above setup and 159 P5 needle jet. I would guess that it's rich w/ the 40 pilot and the 176 needle jet but the need for choke and throttle seems to refute that. I can't get a read on plugs.

Any input?

Double check timing and compression before messing with carbs.

That said, 176 needles need to be MUCH bigger than 159. I'd go with something like a Q-6 and tune from there.

Oh. Yeah. I'm an idiot. I'm going to try 2.0 cutaway slides to richen it up.

Timing and compression are good. Bike was very rideable with stock carbs.

Does anyone have experience working with bleed type NJ's?
