another new guy

Hey my name's Tommy. I'm 22 and from San Diego CA. Been into cars forever. Just bought my first street bike recently (had dirt bikes before) its a 1974 suzuki GT185. For me its just something to cruise on. I love riding around and just having something to tinker on in my backyard. Right now i'm doing a few little things to it before i ride it again. figured i'd sign up on here and see what you guys are all about. so far so good.

heres the bike when i first got it a few weeks ago. Really good condition except for the charging system not working.

So far i have the engine out. had to fix the kickstart. A gear was broken. Putting that together. other than that, just kinda want to simplify the bike a lot. Got clubman bars, got rid of all the lights except the headlight and replacing with really small LED strips u can really only see when illuminated. Pretty much just dickin around rather than a full rebuild. I have too many other projects as it is haha.

Super clean bike man. They are fun little rides. Be careful though... If I had a nickle for every "nothing really" we've seen turn into complete frame off rebuilds, well... Id have a shitload of nickles.

haha yeah well if that's what happens, so be it. It's crazy coming from cars to bikes seeing how simple and cheap it all is in comparison. I already found myself going off on this thing when all i was planning to do was diag the charging system.
