Atlanta GA - TonUp / Rockers

[Dayton]

Wanting to get some feedback on the Atlanta crowd on what parts of town are good/bad or other? Where are the local Triumph riders dives, what is the RAT scene like there? Many TonUp guys? Is there are Rocker/Mod scene like Chicago/Dallas or anything?

Looking at a handful of city's to relocate and Atlanta might be in the hunt.

I am new to this whole scene, but I have been living in the Atlanta area since 2006.
I have not really noticed any Rocker/Ton Up scene around here. But, I may not have known what I was seeing if was actually seeing it. There are deffinately people out here that are interested in it though. The other night, when I went to go purchase my bike, I had to stop just a half mile from where I bought it to put air in the tire. And sitting at the pumps at the gas station was a Triumph. Turns out the guy is into the Cafe thing and is building an old triumph himself.

I think there are areas of Atlanta that would do well for some slightly organized get-togethers. There are some decent places to chill in the Virginia Highlands area, and then there is always the Vortex! (google for Vortex Atlanta for the burger restaraunt and bar). There are always a bunch of bikes parked out front of there of various styles.

that great to hear. I have a new triumph, and looking to pick up another one once I pay this one off and cafe the scrambler fully. Dayton right now doesn't have crap for the cafe scene what so ever. I think maybe one other person in the whol town knows what one is to start with. Atlanta with the year round riding opertunity I tought would be higher on the list, but I guess it still snows there too.

The highlands sound cool, just saying it make me feel like I am back in Denver where they too have different parts of town with names (ie. LoDo, CherryCreek, Wash Park, Ect.) Dayton has,,,,,wait for it.......wait for it....nothing..Oregon district if you really can count 2 blocks as a district.

But we will have to look for jobs, schools for the kid, ect before picking a city. Anyplace has to be better then Dayton.

HAHAHA I oculdn't live somewhere remotely boring. In the ATL, we have the Virginia Highlands, Buckhead, Midtown, the Underground. Lots of good eating. The food selection varies from hole-in-the-wall eateries that are just ridiculously good to big fancy restaraunts that make you feel like a king. The bars are very cool in that they aren't cookie cutter places. As for the family life, there is plenty to do around here. We have the CNN Center (I watch Fox News though ), the CocaCola center, the Atlanta Aquarium, The Thrashers, The Hawks, The Braves (I'm not really a Braves fan but the games are a great time), The Falcons, and the convention centers.

The Atlanta area is a young area with plenty to do and a relatively cheap cost of living. There are many good reasons I am not moving back to New JerseyQ

I would head to East Atlanta Village (EAV). Check out The Gravity Pub. You will find anything from a 60's Vespa to custom choppers sitting out front. When my bike is on the road that is where you will find it.
