Thanks TJ & CJ. It all began with the inspiration of a bottle of my wifes hair jell (for the color scheme) and the great sources of knowledge found here. A 6 month of labor of love and its fun to ride as well.

You're most welcome. Definitely not a classic paint scheme, but damn do I dig it

Sonrier has a good point. Has to have a decent build thread if I'm voting for anything. That's why we're here afterall. At least I am.

Hmmm, I may have a difficult time finding the bloke who gathered the parts and assembled the Triton over in the UK back in '66 ;)

I know a lot of folks just wait until the end of the month and the click on the prettiest picture, but as a few months ago, I've made it a point to read through the build thread before voting.

For me, at least, BOTM is not just a finished product. My vote goes toward the journey and not the destination. Many of us make a big deal over the words, "built, not bought", and so it would be hypocritical to not keep that in mind when making our final decisions.

But, hey... this is the Internet. There are more opinions than users. ;D

Interesting statement- think of the journey the Triton has made . . . 50 years ago parts from several bikes were gathered from throughout Britain and assembled into one; changing owners several times throughout four decades and ending up in the hands of the previous owner who made it over to his likings; then being shipped across the Atlantic to Boston where after four years it was loaded on a trailer and bounced its way across the awful roads of the northeast through the middle of the night to reside in Ohio. Now that's a journey.

I do get your point and hence the reason I first responded with "I didn't do much to deserve it." It was a miserable 29 hour trip though ;)

Still a cool bike and decent piece of history, regardless of who "built" it and who claims it now.

No arguments from me. That thing is one sweet ride and I'm definitely jealous.

You raise a very good point, but it's still Bike of the Month... that'll always lean people toward the visual. Perhaps another monthly vote should be started. Build of the Month... only applies to 'finished' bikes... Could be a nice way to get recognition for a well documented process and exceptional labor.

That, sir, is an excellent idea.

I completely agree. There's alot of merit in the work and creativity of the builds on this site.

yeah cj he moderates this thread so he will see it nominated and seconded and accepted(not so necessary i think) and it will be in the running.

If you have issues, don't vote for it. Plain and simple. Regarding "built not bought" check out the Warbird. Haven't met many who can say they "built" their machine or the majority of it. . I build marine models, always an argument between "scratch built" and "kit built". Both can produce remarkable things but some always bring up the purity of scratch. The Triton is grand. So are all the rest. But for me the Venom is amazing. Check the Warbird out for a "built" mc. ...http://www.warbirdmotorcycle.com/

awesome looking motor on that warbird the rest doesn't strike me though feel like it cant decide whether it wants to be a big bike or a small one.

Warbird is something else. Now that is a build... I like the idea of a Build of the Month. Would truly display talent and creativity. However, there would be a need, IMHO, to define "built". So, to avoid any possible issues, have both, Bike OTM for a cafe racer, like the Venom... Build OTM for beauties like Willow... Meanwhile, I am going for the Venom. At my age, it represents my youth, long gone and misspent when a factory Special was just that a Special. A cafe racer was just that a cafe racer no more, no less. Some tweaking with a few bits and it was mine. No one else. My .02 cents

Any argument taken to an extreme automatically appears invalid. Please see my signature line for a prime example. I'm not arguing whether or not the bike qualifies as built, but rather who did the building and when.

The current owner took possession of this bike just this month and it looked like this when they got it:

Awesome bike? Definitely. Build thread? Definitely not.
