Is it to much to ask for a botm on a cafe racer web site to be fast i mean if you on a h2 the ONLY pre84 bike you gotta worrie about at a stop light is another h2 ;) or a yella rd haha

Well, I'll say this much. This is no polished show bike!! :)

It's actually not finished yet. I know most of our bikes are rarely ever finished, but this one is REALLY NOT finished!! The wheels are white because that's the colour they were when I bought 'em. The pipes are raw steel and a little rusty, mostly because I can't decide if I want to paint 'em. They're hanging on temporary brackets until I can set up a day with my buddy (Pipewelder) to finish the job properly. The frame is touched up with Tremclad and a brush fer cryin' out loud!!! I spray painted some of the nuts and bolts black because they were starting to rust too!

We slapped it together to see if it would run and actually work. The rear suspension is an experiment that some believe is doomed to failure, but so far works as hoped. The rear shock and spring are awful though, and need to be upgraded asap. The tires are old and also need an upgrade right away.

This one really isn't in the same league as the majority of the other bikes, past and present, in the running for BOTM. Especially when I compare mine to Trevor's wicked black h2 (which lost last month), mine is lacking terribly!! :P

I do, however, have a build thread! ;)

So here it is. Love it, hate it. Whatever... :D

I'll accept the nomination because it's an honour to be recognized by friends who appreciate what we have here. Thanks! It's a pleasure to ride it and a joy to call you friends!

What hasn't been touched on is NEITHER of you ASKED for your bikes to be nominated. We the members of DTT CHOSE your bikes to represent us and be placed in the Header. I for one, would be disappointed if you withdrew your bikes. But I doubt it was ever anticipated or intended to start a pissing match... and you should not bare the brunt of the abuse. If withdrawing your bike is nessecary I understand. But tis a shame as both of these classics are what this infactuation of mine is all about.
 
How about this, the brit bikes stay there crazy nice. if your gonna get all first testament about it my rd distroyed it self the day i got nominated and i had no build thread i posted pictures of a busted case and stayed in the running. Some how dtt made it through. So quit bitching, its one thing to keep a thread intresting but if its to the point that people are pulling there rad bikes outta the running it getting stupit so "shut the fuck up and color"
 
Project copper is pretty sweet, but Drewski will get my vote if he finishes his bike in the next three days. ;D

Obviously you're a man of principle. :D

IMO, if you're a member here and you have a bike that runs, your bike is eligible to be BOTM. It may not get nominated, and if nominated, it may not win, but it should be eligible. That's just me though. :) I defer to those wiser than I. :)
 
yes i enjoy coloring. Drewski bike is rad and I def got a kick out of seeing and hearing it at mid ohio however he is canadian and being so close to the summer olympics i don't know if i can vote for it.

Don't remove the Venom from the running. This BOTM has been the most interesting one for a long while, at least for me. IMHO ( of which we know what opinions are like, everyone having one ) Lots of opinions, comments, beliefs and positions . All good, all valid. Great stuff and the Venom is part of it. None of it is personal. Right people? See it to the end Mate. You've got my vote.

Good to see all this is still happening. Hahaha. Gotta love irrational disgust. It's really the American way. Don't win? Change the rules. Don't like the competitors? Ban them.

Hopefully next month will be 5 1973 Honda cb350s with matching Benjies tanks/seat deals. All painted black with the Ace Cafe logo on their somewhere. That way everyone is happy and voting will be a breeze. ;)
 
Sonier, You are making this way too personal to me. It's only a bunch of bikes for Heavens sake. The Venom is not my bike. though I think is is a fine example of a cafe bike from a time period when you were only a gleam in someone eye. and I was a young pup. Go after someone who give a shit. I don't. BTW, sounds like you have a bit of the Green Eyed Monster coming through.
 
Yeah... I think I am probably taking this a bit too seriously.
At the end of the day, it's just a vote on which picture is the prettiest.
I guess I'm just wanting it to be more than what it is; maybe better than what it is.
