Baffle inserts and mufflers for your chop

Schmeck750

If you can't buy it, build it.
I'm starting this topic because I need opinions and knowledge from guys running short mufflers and baffle inserts. It would probably be helpful to anyone in the same boat looking for answers. What makes a straight pipe quiet but noticeable? What's the best bang 4 yur buck? Do the 4inch baffles for a couple bucks I see online really do anything ? What's a good cheap fix? And don't tell me steel wool as I tried that and it was like fireworks on my driveway lol.

I'm going to be getting my bike inspected soon to get riding and I have straight pipes. I have bout 10 inches or less to work with. Any longer and I'll touch the road as my pipes point down coming out of the head . Was going to point them up and out like a hot rod but was concerned about water using the exhaust like a gutter :o

What do you guys run on your chops?
Feel free to show off your bikes and exhaust too ! I'll post a picture of what I'm working with .

1.5" pipes. Not looking to spend a lot of money but you never know . ;D

Most Honda's like LONG pipes, past the rear axle. Not for the back pressure, but for the scavenging effect the gases provide.

Short pipes, baffled or not, give reduced engine performance. The engines will run, and be very loud, but much less effective.

So if you are into "the Slow and the Furious" , short pipes are good way of slowing you down. Hard tails are uncomfortable at speed on post winter northeastern roads, so slower is better anyway.
