Hey guys, got a couple quick questions:

1. When I cut all unnecessary parts off of the bike this last week, both the center stand and the kickstand were cut off; the center stand because I didn't want it, and the kick stand because it was old and rusty. Question is, what's the easiest way to put on a new kickstand? Should it be welded on, or are there clamp on ones that I haven't seen? Is it easiest to just buy a used one off a GSX-R or such?

2. Rearset footpeg mounts: I have to fabricate these before I paint or powdercoat, and I'm not sure on measurements. I'm going to buy the set from Dime City, so I know mounting hole dimensions, but can anyone tell me where to weld them on the frame ('72 CB 350)? I'm about 5'10" if that makes a difference, if anyone can tell me.

1.) Did you cut off the mounts on the frame or just the kickstand itself? If the former, then you're going to need to weld new mounts to the frame in order to attach a new kickstand.

2.) Wherever feels comfortable so long as the location doesn't interfere with the workings of the bike.

I cut the mount off. I need to weld a piece of half pipe on the bottom of the frame on that side, as there is a small hole in the frame, to strengthen it.

I'm not sure as to what will be comfortable, as the bike is down to the bare frame. I was hoping someone about my height had installed rear sets and could give me an idea as to where a decent location on the frame would be to weld the mounts.
 
I know it's fairly common just to mount where the passenger foot pegs are located. That saves a lot of extra fabrication. For a "perfect" fit it's going to depend on the final location of your bars as well.
 
I'm the same height with the same frame. Passenger footpeg area was perfect for me. This is the kit made by forum member durgram_k. I love them. Nice work and perfect position.

notice I have a bolt on kick stand too. I didn't trust just the bolts so I tacked a few welds on it for piece of mind.

Thanks for the picture. That looks pretty good. I searched for that user name to contact him about the footpegs, but his name wasn't found. Was is misspelled, or something. Thanks for the info.
