Funny after all the custom everything he is still running the stock carbs and pods. He could've at least picked up a set of mukunis for it.

Yeah, just because it's posted in the town I live in I read the forum where the build is posted. He bought the thing custom and complete for something like $3500 and found out quickly it didn't run and was completely made of rust and bondo. He dumped a ton of money into it and now believes it's worth 7 grand. Not a bad looking bike at all but it's a classic example of a guy thinking that because he got took, that's what the bike is now worth.

that bike was built by larry cargill for the owner 3 years ago

he didnt have the money for a set of my carbs

I don't know Larry personally or by reputation but he appears to be thought of VERY highly in that forum. The carbs did clean up very nicely and are reported to have been tuned very well... 7K though? C'mon.

how can you consider it a good tune when you have horespower robbing, restrictive pods ? that is just silly
plus the straight pipes are hideous and show a lack of imagination
at least he has some side panels on it,did not follow the sheeple into the idiotic open center look, but why not have some large airfilters as well ?

Got a few gems today.

This one will be gone soon, He know's what it's worth, so I offered him above his asking price $6 http://chicago.craigslist.org/wcl/mcy/4395345524.html

Not sure if this qualifies as a scam, but typically project bikes (even finished bikes) go for a good deal less http://chicago.craigslist.org/chc/mcy/4394537378.html

It happens with cars a lot. Guys dump thousands into them expecting to get all of their money back, or even turn a profit. It just doesn't work out that way most of the time. If you built it yourself and fabricate most of the custom parts, then maybe, but not when you have someone else build it.

Can I get an honest opinion on this one? Seems decent and I might go check it out (bit of a hike though)

Looks like a good start.
I'd be a little leary of "runs great rides great" considering none of his pictures have carbs or a chain.
