"Cafe Racer" such a loose term! Craigslist "Gem" of the week!

Re: "Cafe Racer" such a loose term! Craigslist "Gem" of the week!

Ya that would be the concern for sure. For 45k, it shouldn't need anything and should come with an Italian number of the four wheeled variety to accompany it.

Re: "Cafe Racer" such a loose term! Craigslist "Gem" of the week!

In some of the pictures the number plate has been bent under the seat by the tyre.

I noticed that as well, was hoping it wasn't the case because that's about the worst selling point ever. Might have wanted to fix that for the photo shoot

Cool bike with an ambitious BIN!

I don't like it at all. Looks weird to me. Fairing is too short, bodywork looks weirdly proportioned, wheels look too small for some reason and exhaust looks too busy and complicated.

It's not THAT bad...but I have a soft spot for goldwings. Not to mention, this guy isn't like many of the other A-holes that put a price of 10k+ he is letting people bid at it. The graphic is crap, and sure there's all sorts of ugly on it, but it could have been way worse. Just wouldn't want to go through a puddle...you'd get soaked and have a stripe up your arse!

Pretty and all but I just don't get where he came up with that price.

It's a Santiago Choppers build where do you think the price came from.
Too bad they don't have someone that can spell doing their EBay sales. ;-)

I drink a lot so I forget.....
They were on CRTV right?

Where they the idiots that couldn't make a t500 run ever or one of the 4 or 5 guys that had wheels lock up and toss riders?

Guzzi are nice bikes. And good ones cost money.
But $45k buys a lot of way better things.....

the exhaust on that one looks like a retarded 3rd grader built it,WAY oversized headers and just a shit looking design
here is a nice one close to me :)

Don't know the values of the daytonas well.
But the V11 sports or what ever they are called are cheap, and epically good bikes.

well 45k for that guzzi is a sign of severe brain damage, likely too much sea water ingested on the float from cuba

Clean, but $6500?? Hate the ironing board seat. And as XB always say, looks like the rear tire is going to smash the seat pan when you hit a bump.

Posted that here a couple days ago, not surprised that nobody's picked it up. He did, however, at least add the fact that it's a CB500T to the ad.

This is my bike...just listed it in the For Sale section of DTT. First, let me say that the bench seat is a common element of a 'Brat' layout. The rear wheel does not come anywhere near it...bumps or otherwise. Secondly, add up the cost of the parts, the engine rebuild, the painting, and an $800 donor bike and I think you'd be hard-pressed to get it all in under $6500. Nevertheless, I'd be curious to know what the conventional wisdom is as to what the price should be. The bike has less than 200 miles on it.

Conventional wisdom is you're what's wrong with the used bike market.

You'de be hard pressed to find someone willing to pay $6,500 for that bike stock and mint, much less your take on it.

$4,000-4,500 at the absolute most, and even that's pushing it. You can't expect to make your money back

horseshit ::)
unless you put some travel limiters on the shocks or welded them solid

That is a crack price for a Barbie Bike.
I hope brat was a made up word to make the hipsters easier to spot.

I don't actually see that much money spent.....
Its a stock bike with a stupid seat.....

Terrible listing and pictures.

"motor rebuilt" what does that mean? most use that term when they talk about a motor that was taken apart and new gaskets put in.
Was everything measured? what was replaced? who did the work? Was this one of those "its my first time" things?

As far as "faster and more nimble" really? In what way?
Zero was done to improve how the motorcycle functions as a motorcycle.
Little more then an art project.

Cant see more then $3000 out of it, and only if you catch a whale.
Wrong time of year to go fishing too.

If that thing cost anywhere near $6500 to "build" you need a new hobby

The "only 200" miles thing is a joke.
Tells me one of two things.
First, it was built to flip. SO it was built on a budget and corners cut
OR
Second it has not been shaken down, tested or used. Its fine if the next person wants to just stare at it in the garage.

But in the 200 miles of just putting around town it has been fine......
Waiting for the "im not racing it" or "I have a CBRGSXXRRS to go fast on" cop outs

Its just a copy of every other poorly built bike on pipeburn
hardly a custom
