Cam sprocket problem on cb350f

Hey, Im stumped. I can spin the engine with the chain off the sprocket, I can spin the engine with the chain ON the sprocket and the sprocket off the cam. As soon as I put the sprocket onto the cam the chain will sieze at a certain point forwards and backwards. If I push hard enough theres a nasty click then it spins to the same point and does it again. 1 potentional problem im slightly embarassed to admit is a couple of my tappet adjusters flew off and parts may have fallen down the passage (im hoping theyre in the oil pan) but I dont see why it would cause this specific of a problem.... Any ideas. Help me get this thing running. Thanks

your timing is off. you need to make sure that the cam and the crank are in the correct position when you put the chain back on. These are zero clearance engines. the click you hear is a piston pushing back up an out of time valve.

Whoopsie!

Engines are like the opposite sex, if you have to push it too hard, someone's going to get hurt and something's going to get damaged. It should be slippery and smooth.

The valve cover does not mean thing. if you have had the chain off the sprockets, then you need to re time the engine.

Not sure if he means cam cover when he says valve cover? (probably from other parts of the description?)
You told him what to do with first answer

hahaha!
i dont get the point where you say that tappet adjusters nuts may have fallen in a passage. Thats quit impossible/difficult. if they fall of their bolts, they fall into a little cavity and can not really do damage.

To me it sounds timing is of and you skipped a tooth. valves have a small delicate edge and they problably smashed themselves against your piston heads. remove the head and SEE whats wrong. speculating does not solve anything.

Did you figure it out? It's nice if threads don't bleed to death, but closed with a solution.
Other people have benifit from it, you know ;)

Yes yes just went through and saw this. A piece of the rocker had fallen into the cam chain passage and lodged in between the chain and the wall in a way that apparently allowed the chain to spin until a certain point.
