Can the cm400a head be used on a cb400t?

I ordered this head with out paying close enough attention... the valves are smaller and it there is a ridge that my cb400t head does not have ...

here is the cm400a with the smaller valves

and my cb400t head as you can see has the larger valves that i think the cm400 can accommodate its just that ridge mine does not have and i dont know why the cm400a does the cylinder and pistons are the same size...

and the reason im replacing is the cam seat has some scoring so i wasnt sure if anyone knew whether or not this could just be repaired?

Yes it's repairable but you might as well just replace it. Far as I know, the top-ends are swap-able, but you have to use the entire assembly: pistons, rings, head. One has domed pistons, the other flat. Don't remember which... Buddy of mine is doing the opposite: 400T head on his 400A.

Search on the hondatwins forum. It's down right now for an upgrade but there are several threads about this I think. Good luck!

thank you for this, i moved to AZ a week ago and had to put everything on hold for a few weeks but i did get that original head back on after showing it to a machine shop they said it should be fine to use as is. Im sure ill end up just buying the cb400t correct one shortly after the rest of the bike is built or at this point i should say painted because that is all thats left minus a couple superficial things like tidying up the wiring harness and making a custom shifter linkage and ordering my new mini gauges . well see how this engine goes i plan to get back to work next week after i get over this horrible cold my little nephew gave me.
