Can you wire a 2 wire ignition switch up to a wire connector?

strang

yep
My bike has a stock ignition switch (now broken) that was 4 wire and on/on/off. I want to replace it with a simple 2 wire on/off switch.

Is this set up possible?:

2 wire on/off ignition switch - 4 way connector - 4 wire loom?

Connect one switch wire to the power wire from the loom?
Connect the other switch wire to all the other wires on the loom?

Apparently so that when you are broken down and parked up beside the road you can leave all your lights on and drain the battery.
Or you can remove the key from the running lights side of the switch and then walk away with the satisfaction that next time you come back to the bike you will have sorrow.
Don't worry I'm not one of these jockey shifter no safeties people (bless you).
The "running lights on" position is just silly.
Here's my wiring diagram (well as close as possible to my year as suzuki seem to really make a mess of their ls650 wiring diagrams).

thanks Dohc and Son - Hope my reply didn't sound curt, just been playing wiring spaghetti and have have almost there/at end of tether syndrome :P
How's the best way to join the three wires from the loom to the one wire on the switch? Just solder them? Or is the a nifty connector out there?

Considering the importance of the circuit at that point you'll want to solder it. Major manufacturers use this method.

Some folks solder, some don't.

I've heard good arguments for both methods.

A lot of it may depend on the types on connectors and terminals you're using.
