Cant keep it runnin

I did the following:
1. Charged the battery
2. Changed the spark plugs
3. Adjusted the points (they were a little off on one side)
4. Adjusted the mixture slightly
Fires on the first kick (everytime) again. I think it was just a combination of things that individually were fine, but collectively it was too much for this little baby.
* There is sliiiiight backfire on the right side, but that's an issue for another day. I plan on cleaning the carbs in the near future *
