Carburetor Questions

I have a few questions in regards my carburetor setup. I am building a custom motorcycle and the engine is from a 1984 xr350r dual carb. This is a basketcase. with that being said i cant get this engine to start because of 2 things.

One is my kickstart doesnt return assuming from a broken spring or something in the case. but mainly because i only know where the fuel port is on this carburetor. all the other ports are unknown to me.

I know this is not a dirtbike forum and i am asking them as well, but i assume it wont start because excessive air mixture in the carburetor.

I have checked for spark with a new plug already.

I have also checked compression and that is good because i had to fix valves. And the engine is in time as well. so the only thing left is carb and possibly electronics. i have swapped the cdi box with a know good one with no avail. all help is greatly appreciated.
the carb pictured below is off of a 1983 xr500 with identical carbs just bigger.
I have no idea where this port goes in the first picture
I assume in the second , these bottom ports are for overflow if the bike is tipped over?? ???
and the 3rd picture is of the accelerator pump but am i missing something or is it just me?

Checked for spark with the new CDI box I assume?
I've never messed with those carbs but that looks like a choke, not an accelerator pump. Every accelerator pump I've seen is closed to the outside and has a diaphragm setup on the inside. Like I said though, never messed with these particular carbs so I can't say for sure.
Holes on the float bowls are for overflow and to drain 'em (if there's a screw on the side of the bowl next to them).
Are those the carbs you are using on your bike? If so they look like a thorough cleaning is in order. Your bike should fire with the mixture off (which would be caused by the bigger carbs) but it'll just run like hell until its set up properly.
Also, welcome to DTT. Sometimes its tough to get a response around here, since people aren't on the forum all of the time, and not all of us know how to fix your problem. Also might help to move this to the 1-800-HELP section.

The XR 350 had a weak spark, early ones were particularly bad when they got hot (I know, I had a 1980)
You need a manual, it's probably an air cut valve? The 350 also has a reed valve in the head and only runs '1 valve' until second carb starts to open, the reed equalises pressure in the intakes so charge doesn't go in one side and back out the other valve.
I'm pretty certain you'll need the correct carbs, plus, those need a real good cleaning

Thank you guys for some reply. Wasn't tryin to be rude just my project kind of been stalling dealing with the carbs. No not the carbs I will be using. Those are off of a xr500r that needs a rebuild. When I let fuel go through the carbs it immediately drains out the overflow. I guess I need to pull the bowls and check the floats again. Also fuel lines for these carbs... Do they have to be equal lengths for both sides? So one fills and the other doesn't?

Fuel line length doesn't matter, after one carb fills the other will also fill as there isn't anywhere else for fuel to go with shut off valves working. If your draining from overflows, you need to go back through carbs and check everything.
People have a load of trouble setting up carburettors, just because they look simple doesn't mean they are easy to set up and clean properly.
