Carpy's oil lines. CB750

So I bought Carpy's stainless steel braided oil lines ince my old crappy ones leaked. His has tons of pics of them on SOHC CB750's.

These are the ends.

However my oil tank has a male thread.

And I'm not even sure about the end on the engine. One of the heads is stripped. Go figure!

Are these not the right oil lines or do I fit them to my old ends somehow? Thanks

carefully cut and remove the crimped areas at the ends of the hose so you can re-use the honda ends

Steve doesn't provide any info on installing his lines? I'd check with him before you start modding anything.

Impact driver is your best friend for bad Phillips heads. Nobody should have an old Honda without at least a couple of impact drivers kicking around their toolbox.

the way i described is the only way those lines will work, just do it

This is on his page. "I get my old hoses that are usually covered in dirt and oil, then, I simply use a dremel with a disc cutting wheel on it and cut the crimped collars, then once they have been cut, I remove the old aluminum fittings, I simply buff my original fittings to a chrome finish and then fit into the new hoses as they have a hose clamp set up with a nice nickel collar, and there you go."

I read that and just assumed he was talking about how he made these lol. I thought I was buying a part that was just take off the old and plug in the new. Ugh.

So I'm cutting off this piece?

yes remove from the bike
use a hacksaw or dremel works, clamp hose in vise
carefully slit legthwise at 2 place 180 degrees apart then work a screwdriver in there to deform the crimped piece enuf to pull the hose off,then a pair of dykes to cut the remainder of the crimped material
underneath is the tubing with a raised area in it to grip the hose just don't cut into the hose too deep so as not to damage the tube
it's really a simple procedure
