Yeah I was gonna go for the full scrambler setup but I tried something different.

Glad you found the problem. Now you have to do all the other stuff: timing, valves etc.

Gonna have to do them again because after it ran for awhile, oil was leaking from the points area. Cam seal probably.
Poor thing leaked dry. I probably need to replace the one behind the sprocket too.
Gotta order em from dime city or something cuz I don't think that even the permatex aircraft grade stuff will work here.

I probably need to replace the one behind the sprocket too.

Oil in the side cover? Probably just oil from the chain. If a seal is leaking it's more likely the clutch throwout rod.

Clean the area and leave the side cover off while the motor runs and see where the leak develops.

I'll try that. I know that oil was leaking from the points cover for sure though too.

forcing oil out the top end is odd. Check the breather tube on e top cover. did you have the covers off? make sure you put them back in the right way otherwise you can have oil buildup on the front side. Then that oil will exit through the cam seals.

Never took the top cover off. But the PO may have. It's never been running as long as I've has it until I got it running last week so there's no telling.
After it ran for a couple of minutes I turned it off and I noticed the oil coming from the points cover and pooling below the sprocket area. And I mean pooling. A big ol puddle of oil about 12" in diameter on the garage floor showed up later that night and she is now empty according to the dipstick.
