After letting it sit in the garage, I can nw proceed with my cafe build after I found a used head I can swap out so I don't have to mess with the jammed (and broken) spark plug and the screw extractor that's stuck inside it. Question though -- I know Roc City Seats are popular here -- do you need a seat pan or do you guys just get it upholstered straight onto the glass seat unit?

Here's my $150 CB650;

Ya you bolt a pan to the seat, and bolt the 2 together down to the frame. Just make the long bolts stick through the bottom of the pan and seat, and drill holes in the frame, then screw a nut on the bolt under the frame and your set

I have cut off the bump on my Roc seat, and I am making a pan that mounts to the frame, and the bump will bolt either to the pan, or straight to the frame so that i can take the pan straight off for messing with electrics underneath it. The turn signals will be attached to the bump. I did this so that I have no seat to hang over my frame rails, because I like being able to see them under my tank and all the way to the back of the frame.
